Welcome to Reading for Change! This is an expansion of Love Out Loud in which we will read quarterly books that will culminate in connecting with an organization that supports the mission of the book. We meet at 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time on the 1st Thursday of each month.
Our next Reading for Change book is going to be "What If We Get It Right? Visions of Climate Futures" by Ayana Elizabeth Johnson, and we can't wait for you to join us! This is an empowering and hopeful book about dreaming our way to a better future that protects the environment and addresses the climate crisis. It is comprised of interviews that the author has with various activists, scientists, and leaders about what it could look like if we got things right. If you are an audiobook lover, the interviews are captured almost like podcast episodes, and they are very engaging!
We will gather on Thursday, November 5th at 6:00 PM Pacific Time on Zoom. We have a new Zoom Link for Reading for Change, and you can find it above. We will discuss the first two sections of the book - Possibility, and Replenish and Re-Green. As always, we will structure our conversation so anyone can participate, no matter how much of the reading you've done!
We hope you’ll join us – this book will certainly be an inspiration!
In love,
Emily Rose Peace and Justice Minister Sierra Pacific Mission Center
